This news on Global Warming is Truly Frightening
No, it’s not conclusive proof that Global Warming is happening and will be catastrophic. It’s the news on what certain Scientist are proposing to do to “combat” it. (Other stories on this here, here,and here).
They want to start “geoengineering” the planet. Basically that means using untried, untested methods to remove CO2 from the atmosphere and using methods to actively cool the Earth.
The report from the U.K.’s Royal Society admits that the methods proposed are untested and could result in unforeseen problems if implemented. And yet, Global Warming adherents still push them. And it’s not just the Royal Society.
Why?
Well, they believe in catastrophic Global Warming, despite any evidence to the contrary. There is a great deal of debate on whether there is warming, the extent of warming and the causes. There are Scientists that don’t agree with the view that there is ongoing, catastrophic, man-made Global Warming. These people even talk about accelerating warming, when data indicates no warming for nearly a decade.
It’s gotten to the point that these blind adherents to man-made Global Warming remind my of the adherents of the Ptolemaic, earth-centered model of the Universe during the 16th and 17th Century. The more evidence was found to undermine the model, the more strident the adherents got. Including calling believers of a sun-centered model heretics.
Here’s a quote from the chair of the study group: “It is an unpalatable truth that unless we can succeed in greatly reducing CO2 emissions we are headed for a very uncomfortable and challenging climate future, and geoengineering will be the only option left to limit further temperature increases.”
An unpalatable truth? The use of the word “truth” raises red flags. It was the word used when people went after Galileo. And truth was on his side.
I know from the posts it probably looks like I’m obsessed with Global Warming. I’m not. It’s just that there are usually multiple stories pushing man-made Global Warming every day. And when Scientists basically start threatening to take drastic actions if Governments don’t do what the Scientists want, that needs to be posted on.
